This the worst rental company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I have rented across the US and in other countries and have never dealt with gross negligence.
Why they are the worst:
1. They charge all tenants upon move out a rekeying fee, yet neither of the two homes we rent from them had working keys.
2. Asked to repair back porch light due. Never happened. Had to do it ourselves.
3. Attempted to charge us for a mural in one of the bedrooms that the previous tenants painted.
4. Was charged for using the touch up paint they provided upon move out.
5. Repairs never made or if they were made, not done to any type of standard. Cheapest materials always used and poorly done.
6. We were without heat for weeks in sub freezing temperatures.
7. We were without air conditioning for weeks during 100 degree weather.
8. Floors were supposed to be replaced prior to move in never replaced.
Renters and property owners need to AVOID this company. They over charge for rentals and do not take care of the properties.
STAY AWAY!!! FAR AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT COMMUNITY AND CENTURY 21.
They will nickel and dime you for everything you have to get money!!!
I have been in property management for over 14 years and HAVE NEVER CHARGED MY RESIDENTS FOR THE THINGS THAT CENTURY 21 IS CHARGING ME FOR.
I have been in this industry for over 14 yrs, and what Century 21 and Sue are doing is unethical. I was in that apartment for four years, so the walls would have normal wear-n-tear. They used flat paint that shows everything. I will not receive my deposit back, and I still owe money for the move-out charges. I put in a lot of time and money to paint those ugly brown kitchen and bathroom cabinets white. Removed every cabinet door, sanded it, and painted it. I put all new hardware on the cabinets too. The painter painted all the doors and trimmed work a horrible yellow, and I painted all the doors and baseboards white. I replaced both bathroom mirrors, installed toilet paper holders, towel holders, and towel rods, installed a new cabinet above the toilet in the upstairs bathroom, added a new shower head, and installed shelving in the laundry room. A new ceiling fan was installed in the eating area as well. I painted the ugly lights above both mirrors, too. I installed all new blinds on every single window.
Century 21 expects you to complete the apartment turn, so they don't have to do anything and keep your deposit.
We were very pleased with the time we spent at our rental managed by Century21 Ways Station. Sue was wonderful to work with from the beginning! She made securing our rental stress-free even from states away. Upon arrival, the house was ready to move in. If there was anything we ever needed, she was a quick email away. We are thankful for our time spent in our rental and Sue and her efforts are truly appreciated by us!
All I can say is Meowanna (Mea) Floyd is a Master of her Craft! She took a tiny thought and created a beautiful Reality! Mrs. Floyd held our hands for 6 months as we went through searching, finding and building our home. Mea made it her business to follow up and follow through on every step. Her communication skills was effective and efficient at all times. Our home purchasing process was possible with Mea.
BEWARE THIS BUSINESS: It takes a lot of mistreatment for me to take the time to actually write a negative review so understand when I tell you that this business most likely does not deserve your business.
The facts up front is this business tried to charge me exorbitant amounts for damage to a dwelling I had leased and these amounts were based upon very little factual information. Upon digging deeper and researching Georgia laws I found that they were in violation of such. I then proceeded to have weeks of back and forth with the General Manager whom I was a loyal customer to for four years. This person lost any sort of professionalism, yelled at me and attempted to argue with myself on moot points only for the sake of arguing. (I suspect it was due to embarrassment of not understanding her own job but I will let you be the judge of that should you decide to enter into a relationship with this crooked business)
The second unethical practice they have used against myself is the refusal to return the remainder of my pro-rated rent after I had given sufficient notice to vacate as per Georgia laws. BE VERY CAREFUL if you decide to do business with them, it could come back and bite you.
Lastly I would just like to add that when I took over the dwelling I had received it in less than stellar condition. The General Manager was supposed to conduct a move-in inspection with me and I tried to fit it into my schedule but I normally worked from 6am until 8-9pm. The General Manager basically works bankers hours and is not flexible at all so the inspection never happened. The dwelling's rug was destroyed in many parts of the house, many fixtures were broken and it was nowhere near the level of cleanliness that I returned it. When the General Manager came to do the move out inspection she was nit picking every single thing and basically doing a "white glove" inspection on the dwelling. I felt this to be quite hypocritical but nevertheless I complied and fixed all of the deficiencies.
If you've read this far and still think it's a good idea to do business with this company then please give me a call because I've got some bridges I'd like to sell you.
